My bank transfer came through and the Hilton finally released my card yesterday so I have money! *dances* Thanks to those lovely ladies who paid for me and the child's dinner Sunday night. It's friends like you that give me hope in this world.

Just a heads up to any of you who paid for Flan stuff via Pay Pal.

We had another good day today. Read more... )

While sitting by the pool - I was seized with inspiration and wrote quite a bit of story in my notebook! I'm looking forward to finishing some of my fics very soon...

Now I'm off to get the washing. Why aren't there washing fairies? I want to know...

We've just finished watching the great Disneyland fireworks from our little balcony - they were awesome. There are plans afoot to take the little guy to that part tomorrow, he was much too tired and already asleep *yay* to go this evening.

Yes here we are in Anaheim and enjoying our 3 day Disneyland pass.

We had a wonderful time at the non-Flan. Read more... )

So now non-Flan is over and we have about 8 days left of our holidays. [livejournal.com profile] jayneswoman, me and the little guy have got 3 days here in Disneyland then on to San Diego and more fun stuff like Seaworld and San Diego Zoo!!

No photos yet - I'm old-fashioned and broke and still have a film camera!! When I get home you may be innnundated! Run - hide!! :)

I promised [livejournal.com profile] glimmerite I'd let her know what happened. So here we go!! Thanks again glim for being there when I heard the news *hugs*.

Yes Flan is definitely cancelled.

But the Browncoats are rallying!! The SoCal Browncoats are trying to organise their Bash and I think they will succeed. We'll know tomorrow what sort of events they have planned after they discuss with the Hilton if they can use the rooms already reserved by BE.

But we've had a good time for awhile tonight anyhow. They asked us to hang around after the meeting for more news and while we were hanging Adam Baldwin turned up!!

It was pretty unexpected and I didn't realise at first, being occupied with trying to keep my eye on the little guy. But he was outside and actually spoke to AB!! Apparently they had quite a conversation about Australia and surfing and the little guy asked him if he bought Vera!!

Anyway Adam stayed for a couple of hours chatting and signing things. He was really nice to everyone letting them take photographs and talking about Daybreak and other shows. And best news - he said he'd be back tomorrow night! Maybe I'll be more prepared and have a camera or something to sign with me. Let's hope.

Now I'm off to have pizza with squish, cheshire_monkey, jayneswoman, rinny and the little guy!! More reports tomorrow!!

Well we've had a good day sightseeing wise - going to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Is and The museum of Natural History.

But otherwise I'm bummed out. Imagine Flan might be cancelled!! Since it was my original reason for this trip I'm seriously stressed out.

Also I'm having problems with the car companies understanding my accent :) I didn't think it was that bad! And worst of all I left my notebook at the phones at the Statue of Liberty.

The notebook I wrote two chapters in when on the plane! It has phone numbers, addresses, receipts numbers - everything! My fic *wails*

Anyway thanks for all the kind comments on my last post! I'm looking forward to catching up to everything happening to my flist!

I'm still going to Flan (or whatever) cause everything is booked! Hope to see everyone there and keeping my fingers crossed for Friday!! :(

Yes I've finally packed the bags, bought some American dollars, cleaned the fish tank, left my mother with a list a mile long of dos and don'ts and I'm ready. Just as well really since the bus arrives at 3.30am tomorrow for the beginning of our marathon trek. First we fly to Brisbane, then Sydney, then LA and NY at last. At least 20 hours in the air, I don't know how many on the ground.

I'm hoping that some of those hours will pass quickly because I'll be writing fiction. But I'll more likely be sleeping of playing endless games of chess with the little guy. I'm sure he makes up the rules as he goes along - he always wins!

I'm so excited that we're finally on the way! See all those going to the Flan soon!!

The dog has now eaten through his cast! *head desk* I came home from the beach this afternoon and there he was, a big hole right through the bandage, fibreglass cast and down to the bone. It does not look good. It's Sunday, my usual vet's away and the other guy only opens up for snake-bite or something equally horrific. Of course there's nothing resembling a bandage in the house, so the little guy and I got creative. We've wrapped the cast in an old t-shirt and painted it with mosquito repellant, to stop him eating it again.

And tomorrow its back to the vet, am I glad I have pet insurance!

Is it warped that I have pet insurance and no formal health insurance? I'm sure it is. Read more... )

In writing news thanks to all those who filled out my Letters poll. It's given me some ideas, and I'll be working on it soon. For those waiting for Tenderfeet, (you know who you are), I'm really going to try and finish the next chapter. The muse is just stubborn on that one! I'll have plenty of time for thinking and writing on the plane because since today is Sunday - it's only one week till we leave for the States! Yay!!

I can see! I can see! *dances*

After nearly three months of viruses, running eyes, blurred vision and playing soccer in my glasses, my eyes have settled down and I can see again!

I wore my new lenses for the whole day yesterday and they went well. They lasted an afternoon at the beach and everything. The real test is today at work. Looking at the computer and sitting in the air conditioning – cross your fingers for me!!!

We had a beautiful afternoon at the beach yesterday afternoon.

For two years at least I have been agitating for a coffee machine at work. It seemed to me an easy way to raise a little money and offer an additional service to our customers and since we share a space with TAFE (a community college) I saw a ready made market going begging.Read more... )

It's 47 days till I leave for the States! OMG!! New York first. Any recommendations? Then I'm driving I think to [livejournal.com profile] squish_67's place and then Flan!! I really can't wait.

Ramblings

Today it dawned on me that is exactly two months before me and the little guy fly out to the US! Two months! I'm not organised enough, RL keeps interfering. His passport needs renewing. My pack has seen better days. He has no warm clothes and the summer stock has been on sale here for the last couple of months.

On the bright side, I've paid for the airfare, South California pass and Flan!! There's a babysitter at Flan so I'm counting on actually getting together with you guys one night to celebrate! I'm really looking forward to this holiday and meeting everyone.

Which leads me to thinking about the aforementioned friends. Read more... )

Now I've got to stop rambling and go hang out the washing....Anyone want to come over and do the housework???

After Flan the child and I are staying in California fo another 8 days. We're going to do some child orientated things, this is his bribe. So I bought the pass that does Disneyland, San Diego Zoo and Seaworld.

My question is for those in the know - should I stay at a hotel in maybe Anaheim for the whole time and commute (bus, train, what?), it's my understanding they're not too far apart, to San Diego or do I do the 3 days Disneyland thing and move onto San Diego?
