Money stuff and more travel stories
Dec. 13th, 2006 06:08 pmMy bank transfer came through and the Hilton finally released my card yesterday so I have money! *dances* Thanks to those lovely ladies who paid for me and the child's dinner Sunday night. It's friends like you that give me hope in this world.
Just a heads up to any of you who paid for Flan stuff via Pay Pal.
I thought I should at least start the dispute resolution process in the vain attempt to get some money back so filled out all the requisite forms. I was very managerial in my comments and was the essence of calmness. The dispute was refused.
Of course unlike BE folks I'm anal and like to know I've actually paid for things - so I paid upfront for the Weekend Pass adding the photo opportunities later as I could afford them. Also of course this was more than 45 days ago. The period Pay Pal deems appropriate for receiving goods. *sigh*
I've written them a letter explaining this and wait eagerly (not) for their reply.
Here's the letter
I have registered four cases for dispute resolution and all have recieved the following message.
'Thank you for registering your complaint about this transaction. Unfortunately, this type of transaction is not eligible for PayPal dispute resolution. We encourage you to continue to work directly with your seller, as we have found that many misunderstandings reach amicable solutions through communication.'
I believe this is because the purchase was more than 45 days ago. However, the event I purchased the tickets for was only to be run this last weekend 8th - 10th December. Unfortunately it was cancelled only at early registration time not before. Therefore I couldn't claim my money earlier. Furthermore I have serious doubts as to the veracity of the sellers after the events of this weekend.
We had another good day today. We used the early entry pass and went into Disneyland at 8.00am so we could go on The Pirates of the Caribbean. It was well worth getting up early, we all enjoyed it mightily. Poor
jayneswoman wasn't feeling well and went back to the hotel to have a sleep and the child and I went on together.
We walked our legs off visiting lots of rides and shops as we seriously considered what he should spend his $50 on. So far we've looked by not bought (except for food of course). I think the choice has narrowed down to a set of pirate regalia and some weird Buzz Lightyear thing than makes too much noise. Since I told him if it made too much noise I might throw it out the window - I think he'll decide on a sword to poke his eyes out with instead. *giggles*
We came back to the motel early and he had a swim *brrr* and a rest and then we went back this evening for the fireworks. These were wonderful!! I was greatly impressed and would recommend them to anyone. Since the little guy has seen about one firework display in his whole life he loved it, but was mostly impressed with the fake snow. He chased it everywhere.
While sitting by the pool - I was seized with inspiration and wrote quite a bit of story in my notebook! I'm looking forward to finishing some of my fics very soon...
Now I'm off to get the washing. Why aren't there washing fairies? I want to know...
