Language or lack thereof
Sep. 18th, 2006 02:24 pmsquish_67 and I were having a discussion about us both speaking English but not understanding each other; and it’s not just my accent either!! So I thought I’d post a couple of links to some Australian usages that may be unfamiliar to English speakers from other countries.
Well do I remember the horror of my German flatmate at the then political parties’ slogan of “Keeping the Bastards honest.” She never could understand why nobody took offence at it….
