My mango tree has finally finished fruiting (yay for a freezer full of mango slices for the year), and is badly in need of a trim. So when I got home from work I sallied out with my extendable saw thingy and started sawing away. Really I need a huge chain saw, a ladder, and someone else other than me to do this - but I work with what I have :) (the muscle definition in my arms is awesome btw :D) In the midst of sawing a much too thick for the saw branch, the saw inevitably got stuck. In the course of the unsticking, the branch snapped and both big branch and saw handle hit both arms. The thumb on my left hand hurts like hell and has swollen to twice it's size and my nail is still bleeding 4 hours later. *sigh* Tomorrow at work I shall be the walking wounded. I did keep sawing for awhile and have successfully decimated at least 1/4 of my 30ft high tree, but after I got the saw stuck again I gave up for the evening...

I had a lovely 4 weeks off and have now been back at work since last week. This is the first holiday in years that I haven't done anything or been anywhere! It was odd. I didn't get anything accomplished either, but I did have a wonderful rest and that's what counts! But now I'm back at work and I have to wear shoes! My feet and summer shoes do not agree. I should own stock in Elastoplast. My dream is to one day own a pair of sandals that don't give me blisters...

The LG will be in 7th grade this year and I'm busy buying books and things. His feet are now enormous (he's wearing size 10 1/2 men's shoes) so I'm waiting till the day before school before I buy any. Last year I bought a pair a term his feet grew that fast.

The brain fuzziness is becoming less I think and I'm off to the doctor next week for follow up tests. Then I might finally be able to assuage my guilt for not finishing my betaing for poor [livejournal.com profile] tygermama & [livejournal.com profile] sparrowwritings. The brain it will work!!!

[livejournal.com profile] serenity_santa is so far doing well thank goodness. We've had just over half the gifts posted and still have half the month left to go. The comm is about the only fannish thing I've been able to accomplish lately, which leads me to the meme of the day and my usual caveats and andendums...

I'm hoping this will spur my muse to something, so if you answer it - cross your fingers and hope!!!

If you could have me write a fic specifically for you, what would it be like? Fandom, characters/pairing, genre, plot elements, kinks (if applicable)... what's your ideal fic from me?

*rubs your brain* I just want you to be healthy and uninjured!

And I want a future Jaylee fic with Jayne taking his turn with the nightly feeding of the new baby and sharing sleepy pearls of wisdom, daiper-changing optional.

:D

I would say the giant 7th grader should be doing that sawing for you, but then I know it would probably result in an even worse injury! And it would probably still be you who was injured! ;)

Hope you feel better soon!

*hugs you* I'm sorry to hear about your hands, I hope they heal soon.

As for fic, I'd love to help, but am worried my ideas are much too angsty and depressing.

*tries to be un-angsty* I'm thinking Jayne, muttering about having to cook, River making bizarre comments in the background and Kaylee laughing but maybe helping/maybe not being much of a help. :)

Also, if random words help (they do for me sometimes, but not always), then:

sky diving
inheritance
cursive writing

Hope your week has gone well at work!
