Do people really watch this shit?

I'm sitting in the lounge room typing fic with the TV on in the background. Before it was bad enough, formulaic and boring CSI, but now it's - The top 25 sexiest bad girls!!

All it is is pictures of skinny women who can't act, sing or do anything except look sexy and utter inanities. Added to this is an even stupider narration and five second interviews with folks I've never heard of.

But it's not the worst thing I've seen this week...

I don't know the name of the show, thank god. But it was one of those reality shows, this time focused on a school where you learn forensic investigation. One of the high points was when they fired all sorts of different guns through a pig's heart to demonstrate blood splatter!! Ick!!!!!

The PTB program these sort of shows before 1st run things like SGA and Boston Legal (the only 2 things I currently watch), I just don't get it??

...and that was a *high* point? Gross. Just goes to show you that more and more people will rather tune in to boobs, blood and guts before anything remotely intellectually stimulating such as the VERY stimulating program, "Trade Off." *bites tongue*

Okay, so that's a different sort of stimulation, but still. I hate those shows about pin-ups!

The lowest common denominator really seems to watch this drivel. I know a guy who religiously watches a reality show about choosing the next season's Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. *sigh* It makes my brain ache. His fiance is a friend of mine, and intelligent. I have noooo idea how she can stand it!

She gets him back by making him watch History Channel with her. *snicker*

I know, I hate reality shows. And refuse to watch the REALLY stupid ones. Although I have to say that if the forensic one was not all dramatized and hyped up (like they took idiots and put them in that school to see how grossed out they'd get), I'd find that interesting. But then a documentary on it is better than that any day.

I haven't really missed not having TV for the last (almost) nine years. Any shows I've been introduced to have been through DVDs (Yay DVDs!) Sounds like I haven't been missing much :p

Honestly, why can't they show reruns? This new fascination with normal and/or stupid shit is lame. Like my man says, the reason to watch TV is to see something ya can't do yourself.
