“Please Jayne?” Kaylee’s gestured with the grappling hook and fixed her eyes on him. “They can’t stay there. It ain’t right what’s happening to them,” she pleaded.

Jayne sorta agreed. There was no profit in burning folk. But he didn’t want the rutting Tams back here either, mixing things up, taking Kaylee away. He wanted them gone and he’d think on the how later cause Kaylee was questioning him; eyes wide.

“Jayne?”

He was gone. Jayne groaned; big bad merc reduced to putty ‘cause a girl looked at him. It was downright humiliatin’.

“Alright,” he grumbled. “Fasten the gorramn harness.”

I don't know whether that was supposed to make me giggle, but it did! I know, I'll probably get a lecture about how painful burning people can be. Still, it's just the sort of thing Jayne would think!
