guinny_hamilton. This time my character was Danny Love
Prompt: pencil
“I’m not fat,” Mel stopped to look at herself in a window.
“I never said you were,” said Danny cautiously. He had sisters and was wary of discussing the fat issue at any time.
“Rebecca did.”
“She said all that to catch the unsub’s interest you know that.”
“Some of it was pretty close to the mark though,” Mel observed. “I do make jokes that some would think inappropriate and I know I eat all the wrong foods.”
“So what, at least you eat like a normal person.” Danny liked watching her eat. Unlike some of the pencil thin girls he took out, Mel had absolutely no inhibitions when it came to food. He found it refreshing.

Prompt: dog
“Come on Mel please,” Danny put on his begging face. “Everyone else is away this weekend and she hates the kennel.”
“How come I’ve never heard of this dog before?” Mel asked suspiciously, wondering if Danny was playing some sort of elaborate joke on her.
He scowled. “People always tease me about her.”
“Is she ugly then?” Mel pictured some huge brutish dog with wrinkles and drool.
“Look what does it matter? Will you look after her or not?”
She’d taken pity on him and agreed and now she was waiting for them to arrive and second guessing herself. What if the dog ate her couch? Or chased the cat? Or barked at the neighbours or something?
By the time Danny arrived she’d worked herself into a lather of what ifs. Throwing open the door, she stared open-mouthed at the sight before her.
“What?” asked Danny cradling the toy poodle protectively against his chest.

Prompt: sex
“No more men,” Mel slumped against the bench and sipped her coffee. “That’s it.”
Danny grinned at her. He liked her, always had. She was smart, sassy and didn’t take crap from anyone. She didn’t suffer fools gladly and could shoot almost as good as him, but she couldn’t choose men worth a damn.
“What’d the poor guy do?” he asked.
“The poor guy, in the middle of the most mediocre sex I’ve had in a long time, answered his phone!”
“Ouch.”
“That’s what he said when I threw the phone at his head.”

Prompt: equal
Danny flexed his muscles and picked up the weights. He was determined to equal the gym’s record and make everyone eat their words.
No-one had believed he’d come out of the crash alive – he had. They hadn’t thought he’d walk again – he did. People said he wouldn’t ever recover – he was. And once he lifted these weights, he was going to walk away from the marines and join the FBI.
His friends doubted he’d really leave – they were wrong.
