Tense and weary she sank into a chair at the table. The memory of their fight clouded her brain and she just felt like crying. She didn’t want to think no more – ever. So she focused on Jayne’s hands as he sat cleaning his weapons.
His movements were sure and steady as the yellow cloth was swiped over pieces and the brush moved quietly through barrels. Every part was inspected thoroughly before the rhythmic clickin’ of rebuildin’ began.
Concerned blue eyes regarded her, “alright?” he asked.
Kaylee nodded as the soothin’ silence washed over her and the tension melted away.
