After Flan the child and I are staying in California fo another 8 days. We're going to do some child orientated things, this is his bribe. So I bought the pass that does Disneyland, San Diego Zoo and Seaworld.

My question is for those in the know - should I stay at a hotel in maybe Anaheim for the whole time and commute (bus, train, what?), it's my understanding they're not too far apart, to San Diego or do I do the 3 days Disneyland thing and move onto San Diego?

If I were you I would move it down to San Diego. Just me, I hate driving in Calfiornia or depending on public transportation. San Diego is pretty far south though, right next to the mexican boarder. You may wanna do like a map quest and see how far apart they are.

I'm with meimei. I would move down to San Diego for the rest. There is a lot to do down there and it's a lovely place to stay (I may be slightly biased.) Also, since both SeaWorld and the Zoo are down there, it'd be much easier (because you will be TIRED at the end and you won't want to travel the hours back to Anaheim).

Also, I don't know what your definition of "not far" is, but that's an awful long commute (imho) after spending the day walking around and having fun. Sadly, our transportation system may not provide you with the best options, either. Luckily, in SD, there is a trolley that could get you around, as well.

Let me know if you need help looking for places in San Diego. They have a "hotel circle" where there are lots of hotels.

Yeah when I was a kid and we stayed in San Diego we got a hotel within walking distance of the Zoo and Sea World, so that was cool.

back in '99 we went to Disnyeland in Anaheim then we drove down to San Diego and stayed there so we could do the Zoo. I wouldn't be wanting to commute that far. If I were you I'd do the Anaheim things you wanna do then go down and stay in San Diego.
