If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence (or more) from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favorite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).
I'm posting a little more than a sentence, so if something particularly interests you, let me know.

The first time Jayne had appeared with it in the common room Mal had barely held back a groan. He really didn’t need to hear any clumsy guitar picking. Only the knowledge that the man was doing it to cheer Kaylee up kept him from forbidding any playing at all.

Some of them were morbid and creepifying like that vampire one that River was so fond of. Vampires were sorta like Reavers and he didn’t want to hear about them. When the girls read that one he stayed outta the mess, it gave him nightmares.

River, her difficult child and loveable daughter, was she alright? In the years since Simon had removed her from the Academy, Regan shied from the kidnapped word, they had not heard from either of their children.
Them that choose it : chapter three
“Guess I was spoilt. My room was little, but all my own.” Kaylee unconsciously leant her head against the side of his leg, thoughts far away. “I came late, the boys were almost grown. Mama made her sewin’ room into my sleepin’ place.”
