Star fest report :Part one

Part one We managed to find the car rental place and deposited our car in plenty of time to arrive at the Marriott early Friday afternoon. I was sad to have missed getting a balcony room, but our room was great and sooooooo comfortable. Kimmie and co weren't arriving till 5pm or so, so we just hung out for awhile in our room then I took the little guy for a swim in the pool. By the time we got out, there were more folks wandering around dressed in all sorts of costumes.
This being our first full-blown convention, the little guy and I were a mite wide-eyed looking at all the wonderful costumes...
Then Kimmie, Sue and the girls arrived and it was all systems go! Kimmie was decorating her balcony as the Companion training house and I stood around and tried to be helpful. I gave her the wrong spelling though, so I don't know how helpful I was :D The balcony decorations were interesting. There was a full-size Tardis on one and a wonderful collection of Star Wars vessels on another. As well as Kimmie's training house, there was a Blue Sun Travel balcony. So Firefly/Serenity was well represented.
Saturday morning I was up early and went to the Browncoat panel where I met with the wonderful
elsibet34 who was dressed like a very convincing River. We parted for a little while, but met up again in the line for Adam autographs.
The line was incredibly long and I think took the organisers by surprise. They eventually moved us down to the hallway to accommodate the line. I was interested to see a few folks dressed in Nerd Herder attire, there was even a couple of Sarahs. Eventually Adam arrived with a bounce. Yes he bounced past everyone, joking with the people nearest to him.
Adam had a little to say to everyone
I had my Serenity companion book to be signed and
ladytalon1's Day Break DVDs. I told Adam that the DVDs were for my friend and that she loved Chad. He grinned at me and said real slow - "You know Chad was kind of a dick..", then proceeded to sign the box as both himself and Chad.
For LadyT
I moved off to the side and watched him signing for awhile then went upstairs to the next panel. I got a bit side-tracked and watched and listened to the signing.
the line seen from upstairs

TBC - cause it's midnight and I've still got washing to hang out

I don't think they figured on so many Adam fans, silly organizers. Haha.
Dude, I'm loving the smirk Adam has while he's signing the Daybreak DVD.

Date: 2008-07-17 12:17 am (UTC)Methinks the boys have been hanging out too much; they are rubbing off on each other.
(And no, I didn't necessarily mean that to sound as raunchy as it ended up.)
