Well here we are in Denver waiting for our reunion with [livejournal.com profile] moweasley and friends. Starfest (no link cause my computer hates the URL for some reason) starts tonight! Tomorrow Adam is here and we are excited :)

I've been slack (otherwise occupied/busy) and haven't posted about our travels at all! The horror! *giggles*

So read on for our recent adventures; in which the little guy and I have some great times, interesting times and scary times...Picture heavy so it's behind a cut

Our first stop after leaving Cairns was Narita in Japan.

our hotel our hotel

The little guy has been to the airport but no further, so we have some photos this time. We had a good stay at the Crowne Plaza and before our flight the next day caught the bus around the local shopping district for a look around. We had fun in the department store trying to figure out what some of the things were for :D Walking around the hotel we found a hill perfect for sliding down, so the little guy did that to wear off some steam before the flight.

Next we had the 11 hour flight to Chicago which was rendered painless by the fact that the flight had the tv screens in the back of the seats. I love those things, they're the best for children's boredom. I was interested to see that in the television selections they were showing two episodes of Chuck. Needless to say - I watched them both! :D

We changed planes in Chicago and went on to the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] xx_squish_xx's place. We were so happy to see her again and had a lovely time catching up. The little guy got to ride Stanley and pat cats to his hearts' delight.

We did a tour of Athens, Ohio and checked out where squish terrorises the students and visited the local history museum. Another day squish's mother took us for a drive around the area and waited patiently while the little guy answered the siren call of the grab machines at Wal-mart. Naturally we had lots of discussion about writing and squish showed me how to make an icon and I actually managed to make a couple!!! We sat in the lounge of the evening, laptops on our laps and had a great time...

Isn't it great to go visit someone and they don't mind you sitting at your computer?

Our stay came to an end unfortunately and we left squish to her quiet, (I suspect she enjoyed it a lot :)) and jetted off to visit the beauteous [livejournal.com profile] ladytalon1.

She picked us up at the airport and we zoomed off to lunch with [livejournal.com profile] mercsgoodgirl. It was my first face to face with LadyT and I was all nervous but we hit it off straight away and had a great time. She, [livejournal.com profile] mercsgoodgirl, and I had an enjoyable couple of hours talking shop and getting to know each other again. The little guy amused himself with silly putty while we spoke so after walking [livejournal.com profile] mercsgoodgirl we took him to visit the children's museum. I think we horrified the staff by having an egg fight at the puppet show, but we had fun.

After this we rocked off to her place and met Hufflepuf and I sat down and talked fic and videos while poor LadyT made dinner (Recipe please???). The little guy was intrigued by the fish pond and promptly went fishing for tadpoles - he was quiet for hours :D

Next day we went to the Renaissance Faire. This was a first for us two and we had a fun time. LadyT leant us costumes - I went as a wench (fortunately no photos) and the LG wore Harry Potter garb and carried Malfoy's cane.

Our stay was way too short at my friend's place (if she'll have us back; we'd love to come again), but my timetable called and we were off again; flying to Phoenix this time to pick up the car.

TBC...

That puppet show was the best ever! You should've put the other pic in there, though - lol. And what recipe did you want... was it for the cabbage burgers, or the pork and Czech dumplings?

I enjoyed the Faire very much. It's great to see so many other people having fun dressing up.

Doing the signal was fun. If you need a pinch-hitter again, give me a call :D
