Simon was dead and but for her it might never have happened.

The crippling guilt ate at her brain, it never stilled. Only when he came late at night and comforted her did she felt right.

When his arms wrapped round her she felt calmed, soothed, safe and precious. Emotions she’d never expected to feel with him.

During the day the feelings frightened her and she pushed at him, hoping to make him angry.

His anger, never difficult to achieve, erupted and she got what she wanted.

He didn’t come back and the feelings were gone.

She wanted him so.

I like, but am confused. Which is the part with Jayne, which is Simon. Or is it all River-thought? I can figure any of a million different ways, which may be your intention... :) Love to wonder, I do.

very good... i know you ain't a Simon fan... so killing him off straight away seems to fit well.

i like River's thoughts - they suit a girl who doesn't know how to deal with feelings like hers.
