if you want to chance it after my not-so-successful potatoes at your place! This one's pretty easy and it's great cold or hot...
Pastry: 1 cup plain flour
1 egg
1 tbsp lemon juice
3 oz butter
Method: Rub the flour & butter with salt & pepper
Beat the egg & lemon juice together with a fork and mix through the flour.
Roll the pastry out and then put in pie dish/tin and let stand
Filling: 300ml (a quart I think) of cream
3 eggs
250 grms (5 rashers) or bacon chopped(buy the already chopped stuff and save time)
1 onion or leek or bell pepper
1 tbsp of flour
grated cheese (buy already grated) to taste
Method: cover the bottom of the pastry thickly with the cheese
Cook bacon and onion in the microwave for 2 minutes on high & pour over the cheese
Beat the eggs, cream, salt & pepper & pour into the pie.
Bake at 200c/392f for 15 minutes,
then 180c/356f for 25 - 30 minutes or until it's firm in the center
