The myths some of these perpetuate sometimes infuriate me, but mostly they just make me laugh...

Also you would not believe how many people read these!!!

Found: A father for her child
Doctor's bride by sunrise - Why sunrise, does she turn into a pumpkin? Which would make the story more interesting LOL

Sheikh surgeon's proposal - the guy is described as a playboy, surgeon and Sheikh? WTF?

Single dad at Heathermere - the synopsis was so boring I stopped reading

English lord, ordinary lady

Executive mother-to-be

Innocent wife, baby of shame

Taken by her Greek boss - *grrrrrrrr* One of the perpetuating ones

Good God!

Well at least when shopping around for fanfic, I pick the ones with the good titles! (Which is biased in a way I suppose)

*grins at you* I admit I'm hopeless with titles. But even I could do better than this!

*is appalled* That lady I almost ended up sharing an office with? Besides the bubblegum pop music, she also has about 20 of these crappy romance "novels" in her bookshelf at her desk. *shudders*

It is amazing how many people read these things. It's the only genre some women read! *is horrified*

It's the only genre some women read! *nods* I have several who come in more than once a week to get the maximum amount of these out.

I'm glad you landed the other lady *smiles* Which reminds me - I've got some messy desk photos to post. Look for them tomorrow :D

Mal couldn't immediately make out a face as the dark-robed figure stepped out of the tent. Hands--graceful, rubber-gloved, and covered with dark red blood--came into the light first, making Kaylee gasp at little behind him. But Mal, a veteran of the Unification Wars, didn't flinch.

He did watch a little too closely perhaps, as the gloves came off with a snap and blue eyes set beneath dark hair became visible in the firelight. Mal momentarily imagined it would be none too hard to get caught up in those blue eyes for a long time, then chastised himself for his carelessness. He had far too much to be concerned with without being distracted by how pretty the young sheik was.

"Malcolm Reynolds, I presume." The man's voice was just like the rest of him--mysterious, aristocratic. It was a voice that seemed at once completely foreign to and completely at home in the small village of tents that surrounded them, with its smells of food cooking in exotic spices and strange, lilting music drifting up into the desert air.

Mal nodded in response. Ridiculous at it seemed, he didn't entirely trust his voice with the those blue eyes trained on his. Even in the darkness, he was sure he detected a playful glint. But that couldn't be--could it?

"It's late," the sheik said. "And I know you come a long way. Rest yourselves, and we'll talk business in the morning."

I think you've got yourself a great beginning to a bodice-ripping AU fic there! I think you should continue it!

Ooooooooh! I love it! The mysterious sheik is so cool and I love the atmosphere of spice and strange lilting music. You should so post this somewhere :)

Also I love the warning and the whole concept *giggles*. We really should do more of these, I have an endless supply of titles *rolls eyes*

What I can't figure out is why the hell they're not capable of thinking of better titles!

Mills & Boon. The UK/Aus equivalent of Harlequin. Gotta love 'em. Not.

Lord knows I love a good romance, but I wouldn't touch any of those with a ten foot pole. Love your commentaries! *g*

lol that's hilarious. It's like they've given up trying to come up with a title and just sort of list what you might find inside.
