Whipper snipping (Brush-cutting), tree cutting and mowing are best not down when it's 37 degrees (98.6) and humid outside.

Maybe I should wait till it's cooler? Which would be March and getting to my place would be like one of those old Deborah Kerr, William Holden movies where they hack through the jungle with machetes and have to burn leeches off with cigarettes...

I just started reading books by Larry McMurty (is that how you spell it? I'm not by the books)...who is to Texas and that crazy landscape as Edward Abbey is to the desert southwest. I don't know why your 'jungle' visual made me think of that, but it did. Have you ever read any of his stuff? He came highly recommended to me, so I'm checking him out.

I read Lonesome Dove which I loved, but haven't read any others. I bought them all for work though, and they're very popular...

You're always welcome! But William Holden is in short supply - I have a cute dog, who could imitate Lassie though!

Okay, I don't know how I should respond to this question; should I be polite and commiserate with you? Or be honest rude and just say "DUH!!" *gigglesnort*

Heeee. This just made me laugh. Anthony is in the same boat.

He wanted to mow and whipper snipper our degenerate unruly lawn this weekend and, on Saturday, after spending some time outside fussing with the motor and whatnot, he came in and said "I've decided I'm not doing it today, I'm going to wait until Sunday".

I just nodded and made some "Uh huh, really?" type noises.

Saturday was 35+ and Sunday was 25. Why this didn't occur to him IMMEDIATELY, I have no idea.

I merely suggested to him that we let it all go to hell and call it a "safari theme" garden... maybe buy some wooden animals.

The safari theme sounds like a good idea! Think of the time and angst I'd save and I already have the wild child to be Junior Tarzan :D
