Oh no *staggers and clutches hair* I’ve written a chapter that’s less than 2000 words, less than 1000 even, in fact 90% of my chapters are less than 1000 words.

I’m currently writing a story with an animal in it…and have written another.

I sometimes post every night and hardly ever know where my story’s going. I very rarely prepare ahead! That’s not quite true. I usually have the beginning thought out, and quite often the ending. Just not the in between!

I write non-canon pairings! *shock, horror* Jayne/Kaylee, Jayne/Inara, Jayne/Zoë notice a theme here?

I have written post-BDM and have ignored the BDM.

One of my fics has a pregnant Zoe it’s Au but she is pregnant. And I’ve written pregnant Kaylee too *whimpers*

OMG I’ve written a chapter in the slash roundrobin and even written a very slight early Rayne and *stumbles* she once refers to herself in the third person!

I’ve written everyday stuff too, you know with no adventure at all in the chapter.

I drop consonants left, right and centre and use ya and yer.

Sometimes I actually say what the characters feel inside (strangely like most book fiction I’ve read. Jane Austen anyone?)

I think Jayne has brains and is not some witless, dirty hulk and write him that way.

The only thing I haven’t done is write a crossover or use homonyms or have bad grammar (my mother would die) but am probably guilty of misspelling Chinese words.

No guys I’m not going mad…I’m feeling guilty (not!) after reading the Pet peeves thread over at fireflyfans.net!

OMG! I'm laughing so hard right now, you have no idea!

This really helped, because even though I don't take all that complaining they did seriously, it still just gets me somewhere inside. I spent the night wondering if I should even be writing fanfic at all!

And then I wake up to this! (don't look at the time, I overslept...hey, it's Sunday here, it's allowed!).

From teaching I have realized that you can't please everyone. I've gotten evaluations at the end of a class where one person says it was too hard, another it was too easy. One says I didn't use their textbook enough, another that I relied only on it. So we can't please them all and that's okay.

But really all I want is for people to stop leaving rude comments in fic, ESPECIALLY about the pairings! And about the characterization, when it's clear that they think the way they see the character is the only true way.

Did you like my comment about Jayne and his whores? Some people have acutally written that he ONLY has sex with whores, I mean really?! Mal slept with whores on the show exactly the same number of times we see Jayne with them. And really, that man could have any woman he wants and not just whores! I'm convinced, when he has the time, he's got all kinds of women lined up on every planet. I know I'd be there! *bg*

I did see that comment and I laughed! It is pretty hypocritical isn't it? Not only did Mal sleep with Nandi, he's in love with Inara and was pretty easily beguiled by Saffraon. Yet he's fine! And Jayne doesn't have all the baggage that Mal carries around about 'professional women'

Anyway glad you liked it...I just felt like being weird!

Go back over and read the comments since last night. Someone reamed Leiasky a good one (I really feel like commenting to her about her comment about me, but since I've lost all credibility with her *sigh*, there's just no point in it. Do you think she really thinks I flamed that girl when I messaged her for saying she wanted to spit on meimei42? And that there was nothing wrong with that girl saying that? Crazy.

Anyway, there is also a wonderful comment from mal4prez about getting over being against various pairings. Oh and another comment that we shouldn't use River as a plot device. Damn, there goes our new fic!

Did you look at the comments on our fic over there? Only a couple so far, at least there are no flames (even LucasHarper liked it and he's not too sure about Jaylee).

When I read it I decided not to post fic over there anymore. I'd only posted one small one there as it was. I fear them O_o

No! You can't stop posting fic there, you can't let them win. I read through the post and rolled my eyes at most of the posts. Some of the peoples pet peeves were ridiculous. I mean if you don't like slash writing then for gods sakes DONT READ IT. If you don't like Jaylee and it says in the story summary JAYLEE, don't read it.

The people complaining about longer fics make me the most annoyed. Like how DARE someone write something more than a few thousand words.

Anyway, to you post Bookaddict, I loved it, it cracked me up and it is soooooooo true. I feel the same way as you do. That whole thread was so lame.

I am SO glad I don't go to fireflyfans.net - ever! Of course, now I'm curious because posts like that make me angry enough to actually WANT to write in ways that would piss off people should they stumble across it. I abhor people who are so elitist they feel it is okay to list their "pet peeves" on a forum like that. Grrr....

You keep doing what you are doing - 'cause it's great! =D

Hee! I'm planning fic bombardment...short, long, non-canon, maybe one day even a crossover!

I'm glad you like my stuff and most times so do I...another pet peeve! Apparantley that's egotistical!
