“I thought you had some really important job in Washington?”
John grabbed Fran’s arm and pulling her closer, wondered if he could kill her without anyone noticing. “I try to keep it quiet.”
“Oh really?”
Fran gazed at him speculatively, and Casey was abruptly reminded of how smart she’d been at school.
“Really quiet,” he nodded, hoping she’d get the message.
“You pulled my hair for a whole year,” she pouted at him.
“I didn’t let anyone else pull it, did I?”
“No,” Fran grinned. No-one had even looked at her cross-eyed for fear of John’s eight year-old fists and intimidating glare. “But you made me cry.”
“For God’s sake Fran, it was more than thirty years ago!” Casey rumpled his hair and glared at her. “How about I take you out to dinner to make it up to you?”
“An expensive dinner?” she asked.
“As expensive as you like,” he agreed.
“Fine,” Fran fished in her wallet and handed him her business card. “I’ll see you on Saturday night.”
“Fine,” John echoed as she turned away with a flip of her long blond plait.
He had plans. First he’d pull her hair, and then he’d choke her with it.

Date: 2007-10-18 02:34 pm (UTC)I have no idea why...maybe it's the thought of an 8 year old Casey or the fact that he's contemplating hurting an innocent woman after treating her to dinner. Makes me just wanna go..."Oh John...you silly boy" :)
