“Are you sure you like it out there Kaylee?”
Mama always asked that, she couldn’t understand people staying in the black. Kaylee could.
She’d boarded Serenity on impulse with a yen to see the ‘Verse. Now she never wanted to be anywhere else.
She loved how sometimes time rushed by and others it was so slow it was like swimming through a sea of treacle.
She loved that though they fought, argued and disagreed with each other, in dangerous times the crew pulled together. She loved the new faces and places, her family and her girl.
“It’s shiny,” Kaylee answered.
