ladytalon1's challenge. The prompt was "She ran away with my clothes and my heart!" Hope this meets the criteria - it was written on the fly...
“I can’t wear that!” Jayne’s voice rose as he looked at the violently patterned shirt.
“You don’t have much choice; it’s all I’ve got that’ll fit you.”
“Why didn’t you get one of mine?”
“’Cause Kaylee’s changed the code on your bunk and I couldn’t get in,” Wash answered.
“Gorramn it!!”

Earlier:
“Wash,” the voice whispered quietly and the pilot jerked around, surveying the empty passageway with wide eyes.
“Wash,” the voice continued. “Get yer gorram pi gu in here.”
“Jayne?” Wash was relieved that the voice had a body attached to it. “What are you doing in… Oh my god!” He squealed and clapped a hand over his eyes. “Cover yourself up man!”
“There ain’t anythin’ to cover myself up with,” Jayne replied.
“Well then stand behind the engine, at least that’ll hide the most questionable parts.” Wash shuddered. “Where are your clothes anyway?”
“Kaylee took them.”
“She took them? Why were you…” Wash snatched his hand from his eyes and stared at Jayne incredulously. “You and Kaylee?” he questioned.
“Yep.”
“So why’d she take them then?”
“I didn’t want anyone else knowin’,” Jayne rubbed the back of his head.
“That you were?” Wash shook his head. All he seemed to be doing was asking questions.
“Yep,” Jayne nodded.
“Why not?”
“Yer asking me?
Wash grinned reluctantly, remembering with a shudder all the teasing he and Zoë had received from their shipmates. He also recalled Mal’s frozen silences and downright opposition to them linking up.
“Well ok, I understand that but I’m supposing Kaylee didn’t?”
Jayne nodded miserably. “She got all angry and flounced out.”
“Taking your clothes with her,” Wash sighed.
“I don’t rightly know why,” Jayne frowned.
“If you go out there without clothes, who do you think might see you?”
“Mal,” Jayne supplied.
“Then he’d yell at you and ask you lots of questions, probably get Zoe and the others to rally around,” Wash explained. “Until you told him everything and then he’d kill you for fooling around with Kaylee.”
“I ain’t foolin’,” Jayne protested.
“So she took your heart as well then?” Wash asked in disbelief.
“She did that already, first time I saw her.”

Later
“Jayne,” Mal’s eyes were flinty as he looked his mercenary up and down. “Do you want to tell me why you’re wandering about my boat stark naked?”

I love the thought that Jayne would rather go naked and deal with Mal's crap rather than have to make do with one of Wash's awful shirts. But my favorite bit was this:
