Dear Kaylee, girl I found your surprise thank you Ive played it over a lot I always did like to hear Jayne play. Mattie and me enjoyed having you all here Jayne says you might be coming back this way youre always welcome remember that Love Ellen
Dear Ellen, Im so happy you liked it. I didn’t give it to you when we there cause you had the real thing I thought itd be better for later. It weren’t hard to make the hardest part was getting Jayne to play the guitar he wanted to know why and was all obstructive till I told him it was for you then he behaved. Hows Mattie is he still doing alright? It was good to talk to someone who likes engines and ships like me. Ive been using the food you gave us and everyone has been loving it we rationed it a bit so it would last longer. We got so spoilt at your place eating fresh every day we want it to last as long as possible. I want to ask you when Jaynes birthday is I try to make everyone a good day on that day and he wont say stubborn man and it aint even on any of his arrest warrants so I can cheat. I think Zoe is doing much better she is more relaxed like old times and I even heard her joking about Wash with the Captain the other day. It must be having the break from Serenity that did it thank you for having her stay in the house. We already did some crime and got paid and Captain got us a freight job for some folks on Hawkins Moon that means well be back in a few months and you know Im gonna visit. Love Kaylee

Ive planted some more seeds so Ill have more fresh and free food for you folks in the black gotta eat healthy you know. Mattie is doing good that man of yours is a wonder Love Ellen
Dear Ellen, Looks like I missed Jaynes birthday this year but hes gonna get a big celebration next year my birthday was when we was at Miranda but last year I had a good one. Wash organised it and he gave me a dinosaur made from parts of Serenity its still on my shelf I look at it often. Jayne had to dress up in what Nara calls tails thats a coat with long coattails it was black and he had a white shirt and this little tie that he said choked him something awful he looked real swai Ellen and every single girls eyes were on him I can tell you. He had to wear them cause he was the only one they fit Simon gave him lessons in how to be appropriate for one of them dos they both hated it. I wish they got along better. Jayne had to escort Nara and you know I think the Captain was jealous how fine they looked together that job went smooth like I said last time and weve had another since. River and I went shopping and bought boots and some fun sweets that we sent to you and Mattie hope you like them. Simon was cross that River didn’t save her money she did but not all of it I think he treats her too much like a little girl I understand he worries but treating her like shes not to be trusted isnt good. We had a fight he doesn’t like me interfering but theyre both my friends and I know she was unhappy maybe I should have left well enough alone? Love Kaylee
Dear Kaylee, you did right telling Simon what you thought if River was unhappy you two just gotta realise you have different thoughts and learn to accept that theres room to compromise things will work out. Thanks for the capture of Jayne in his finery no wonder everyone was looking at him Matties gonna tease him bout it for sure Love Ellen
Dear Ellen, Im here laid up with a broken leg our last job on Whitefall didnt go as smooth as the others did Jayne tell you? Patience the mayor of that moon didnt want to pay for the stuff we bought her shes always that way but we had to trade with her. This time she had some sorta canon and shot at my girl it was only Rivers great flying that stopped us crashing altogether but Serenitys tore up still and with a broken leg its harder to fix her. I werent expecting it and got bounced round the engine room and fell I heard my leg snap it was a horrible sound. River bumped her head and was confused for days it worried everyone but shes getting better now Fifi got thrown around too and her ribs broke so she sits with me most times and is real good company. When I do gotta go anywhere the Captain or Jayne carries me Im sleeping in the passenger dorms right now its easier than going down a ladder to bed. That’s a wonderful thought about the food you grow such tasty things Captain says if you wont take money maybe therell be something we can exhange or something we can fix hes proud you know. Simon and me made up youre right we gotta get used to each others ideas and I guess hes so used to looking after River its hard to stop. Nara got hurt too the Captain was so worried he forgot his doubts and kissed her and all theyre sharing her shuttle now and are getting used to each other too. Everyone got your presents I love my scarf and wear it often I caught Jayne hand washing the socks dont let on I told you. Captain got us a big salvage job were going to be out in the Black awhile Ill write you when were near a post office Love Kaylee

I love how Kaylee opens up to Ellen. She's a pretty open girl but there are things she can't share with the crew.
