Brain dead

We've finished day one of the 1st surf carnival of the season! Yay!! But now I'm sort of dead. I have ideas for my fics but can't write them, so I'm reading, commenting and rambling instead...

The day was fine (there was anxiety cause it's been raining all week), but windy. It actually wasn't too hot and I remembered my shoes this year and didn't burn my feet on the sand.

My job was to be age manager for the 8s, 9s & 10s so consequently spent about 5 hours standing on the beach, running up and down between marshalling areas and trying to keep little boys and girls from exhausting themselves before the race.

The little guy did well and exhausted himself nicely. He got tangled up in the rope on the buoy in the surf race and had to be bought in by the boat, a scary moment for the parent I can tell you! But lots of water poured on the leg and a drink of water and off he limped to the board race and came second!! I'm not proud or anything.*shakes head*

So most of his stuff is over, we just have to go back tomorrow for the all-age relay and I don't have any jobs related to that. *dance* I might actually be able to watch some of the races or even *gasp* go for a swim. I'm actually contemplating competing myself next year in the masters... I really must be brain dead!!

Oh and also I scored a goal at soccer Friday night!! This is a rarity I can tell you, a once a year occurrence. So I'm a happy chappy at the moment.

Once my brain deadness is over I shall finish that thing for squish_67 *grins* and do the beta-ing for jayneswoman - sorry for the delay!! And hopefully write another chapter for Them That Choose it etc. etc.

Surfing and soccer and scoring, oh my! It sounds like you've been having a grand time in the RL world as of late. Good for you. I'm being a much better student these days. Good for me... not as exciting, but good.

1 month, 3 weeks, and 3 days till Flan!! I'm so looking forward to it....I'm glad to hear your studenting (is that a word?) is going well. Don't forget us though *grins*.

Yep our extra-curricular activities are being very fun lately. Now if I can get work to be like that - hmmmmmmm.

Yay! A surf carnival sounds good...

No worries about the beta-ing... Take your time. I'm trying not to rush with my fics. Just writing as the muse inspires... and posting every once in a while.

Congrats with your football success! Scoring a goal is tres bien.

I've checked out Mike's site - it's pretty awesome. He's a very talented guy. I've thought about doing something similar, I just don't have the techy know-how, or the motivation really. I'm an inherently lazy person. I could use the extra income, though. The portrait business is very slow. :D

Ditto with the brain deadness here. I've got about 2,000 words written on the final part of A Lasting Impression, but I'm still not happy with it and can't figure where to fix it. *sigh* Why do we torture ourselves with these things? Muses are stupid.

Muses can be very painful - I think they take special classes in non-cooperation!! Put the fic away for a couple of days and then see what happens - you never know??

I thought his site was pretty good. I know what you mean about the tech stuff though, I'm hopeless at it. I'm crossing my fingers for you re the portrait painting - I'm sure it will pick up *hugs*
