We got a present!!!

A couple of weeks ago [livejournal.com profile] cheshire_monkey wanted to send something overseas. So I gave her our address.....and yesterday a gift arrived. And it's cool and Fireflyish and cute, the child couldn't wait and took them to show-and-tell at school today. A set of goslings to juggle, contained in a Chinese Take-out container. So check out the photos, if I can make them work. The child is the blond, cute one - I am not.

Thanks so much [livejournal.com profile] cheshire_monkey we love them.

Juggling geese

Me and him (hope I'm not too scary *grins*)

Good story, but the best part was having a face to go with the woman I'm getting to know. You aren't scary at all. I love your glasses!

I have to tell you, the picture took my whole screen up and opened slow, top to bottom. So for a time, all I saw were books. Being the reader nerd I am, I was like "booooooooooooks."

Thought you could relate.

I can relate - totally!!! I'm surrounded by them at home and at work....isn't it great?

[identity profile] jayneswoman.livejournal.com 2006-08-08 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm loving the books too. I'm such a bookworm.

How cute! What a nice prezzie to get in the post.

Nice to see what you and your son look like, bookaddict43..

It was a lovely present...and thanks :) getting him to stand still was the hard part. *giggles*

Aww - geese! What a neat gift! Also, it *is* great to put a face with the name XD Thanks for the pictures :D

They're sooo cute and soft to hold...I love them. The photos were fun to take, since the child was being slightly weird :)

Awwww... you're very welcome. I'm so glad you like them.

And thanks for aharing the pics - they are wonderful! I love having faces to go with my flist. Scary? Pffft. Not in a million years. You two are adorable. Yay!

Thanks for being my first overseas address. You probably would have laughed yourself silly at my paranoia of filling out customs forms and DESCRIBING what was in the box. Something about stuffed animals and instructions for juggling said animals. It was terrible (but I'm useless under pressure).

*sharing the pics (I've no idea what aharing is, but I'm pretty sure you didn't do that.)

The child read every word of the description on the box in the car and was even more intrigued!! Specially since I wouldn't let him open it till we got home!

Then we had to have a discussion about Chinese takeout boxes....since we don't have them here. *grins*

We are in the throes of sending something back - so watch your mail!

[identity profile] cheshire-monkey.livejournal.com 2006-08-09 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
*is embarrassed* I didn't know you actually got to SEE what I wrote on the description. GODS, I'm so embarrassed. I'd never filled out a customs form and the people were not helpful and I was all nervous and didn't know how revealing I was supposed to be. And for my first thing to ship, it had to be all weird sounding. I couldn't just write "stuffed goslings for juggling" because then it sounds like some taxidermy experiment and that would be bad.

Wow - I'm so intrigued by the Chinese take-out box discussion. That must have been different kind of conversation. Yeah - they already come wrapped in the box and I was trying to be all descriptive so any government official who was reading it would say, "whatever." I didn't think it'd make it across the sea, though. *is still blushing beet red*

Hee! I love mail!

Hee ! Don't be embarassed....it was fun. And the Chinese takeout discussion was him wanting all the facts and was much better than the 'What would you do if a crocodile tried to eat me?' one. *grins*

The following Q & A was about screen names and real names and just to make your face redder than before - all the discussion would have been relayed to the class word for word.

Oh my. That's - frightening.

Well, I look forward to meeting him at Flan. Perhaps he'll be good enough to juggle for us. ;D

[identity profile] xx-squish-xx.livejournal.com 2006-08-08 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Love the geese! Now the child must learn to juggle them!

And I loved seeing a picture of you, you look like such a Mom! *you know in the bestest possible way* It's so nice to see pics of people (and no, I'm not brave enough to post any of me, even if I had any digital ones). Hey, btw, send me your address again, I've lost it.

He's already practicing the juggling and can do two slowly....

A mum? What do they look like? hmmmm?

[identity profile] bookishtype.livejournal.com 2006-08-09 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
