Quick ramble

What is tax day? *is puzzled*

All the people signing up with Dreamwidth are you gonna post at LJ too? *wibbles and clutches flist*.

We saw 4 beautiful Jabirus yesterday on the way home and I didn't have my camera!

No-one has posted a drabble for our 5 year celebration at [livejournal.com profile] firefly100 :(

Why do people ask about chickens crossing the road? It should be turtles...

Dumb turtles who leave a perfectly good creek or waterhole to cross the road to another waterhole. Turtles who wait to cross the road so an 11 year old wildlife expert sees them and expects his mother to stop the car on a dime to pick them up. Turtles who stink to high heaven in the car and bite the hand that saves them.

I think I might need therapy :)

Penguins are nice, and a lot more comfortable than turtles!

The US Tax Agency (IRS) hath decreed that all citizens (or about 90% of adults at least) must file an accounting of any income they received in the previous year. This accounting must be filed and all imcome taxes paid on or before the 15 day of the fourth month of the new year. So in effect, April 15 is the day when those who owe taxes to the government have to settle the tab for the previous year.

I filed the paperwork back in February.

I sent them the check Wednesday.

I don't have a problem paying, but I'm certainly not going to do it early.

The day I owe the government $1900. Gorramn IRA cash-out.

Y'know, there was this same exodus to Insanejournal last year; but I didn't lose any of my flist then, so I'm hoping the same thing happens now. *clings*

*clings back* I'm hoping too; I never remember to check the other sites.

$1900? That's a bummer :(

I'd post something but I'm pretty much out of the fandom save for actually watching the show and movie :(

Turtles huh?

Yeah I dunno if I'd stop. Mind you if I could I would but like you, I'd obviously not risk and accident to avoid an animal. Cruel but it happens that way sometimes. :(

To sad faces?

Better give you a happy face to end.

:)

Turtles are annoying!

Thanks for the happy face - here's mine :D

Once my brother saw a turtle in the middle of the road, and he pulled over so that he could move the turtle off the road. But since my brother was standing on the side of the road, another passing car moved farther into the other lane than it would have and ran over the turtle. My brother felt bad.

I file my taxes early, and then watch in morbid fascination as others wait until the last minute (April 15th).

I'm sticking here. :)

I take it the LG spotted a turtle???

[identity profile] bookaddict43.livejournal.com 2009-04-18 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
I knew you'd have yours done early :)

I'm glad you're staying - I love my flisters *hugs*.

The LG has spotted lots of turtles over the last wet months.
He will insist on me stopping for them and then he brings them in the car to take to a creek. They stink like crazy! You'd hate it :)

It's motivating to do so when you're getting a refund. We always overpay up front and get money back when we file. Safer that way. I used to hear my Dad freak out every year before tax day about how much they owed. It was over $10,000 one year. EEP. Me? Paranoid? The flip side of that is a couple states are so broke this year, they're delaying paying state tax refunds (most states do taxes as well as the feds). Colorado paid their refunds. Thank goodness.

I love my flist, too.

Haha! You know me well. *hugs*
