ff_friday Challenge redux #7, prompt #110 a colour and prompt #36 no dialogue
The human eye can see over 16 million colours and River often saw and experienced things in colour. Emotions, objects, people all of them had their own distinct colours.
Her favourite colour was blue, had been blue.
Her childhood had seen a parade of blue in all its different shades. Her constant preoccupation with it led her to spend hours staring at the sky, the endless blue azure hypnotizing her.
The most sophisticated dress she owned was a rich, royal blue and on leaving for the Academy her parents gave her a set of luggage in eggshell, she had loved it.
Now for her, the colour of terror was blue, a deep, dark, indigo blue.
Blue hands, blue suits, blue drugs; she loathed and hated blue.
But now it was surrounding her.
Simon’s eyes were the colour of the ocean, clear and loving, sincere and comforting.
Cornflowers shone from Wash’s eyes when he spoke and twinkled engagingly when he laughed. Periwinkles glowed when he looked at Zoë.
The Captain’s sapphire gaze reassured everyone around him, while the midnight glare made all aware of his anger.
It was Jayne’s eyes, those, alternating Persian, steel, ultramarine eyes that drew her the most. River wanted to see them directed at her. Clear, azure and endless; hypnotizing her till she forgot the terror and knew she was safe.
