River lay flat in the dirt trying to get closer to her brother.
Unable to articulate her feelings; she’d persuaded the Captain to bring her here hoping that when she saw the grave the nightmares would cease. That talking to her brother would clarify her emotions, stop her missing Jayne.
Simon wasn’t here; it was just an earth covering for his body. Perhaps his spirit was on Serenity waiting for her. Reluctant to return River fended off her crewmates efforts to coax her back. Everything overwhelmed her there.
Strong confident footsteps approached “Gonna lie there all night girl?” asked Jayne.
