River gazed in awe at the ocean of darkness surrounding them.

Simon didn’t like it, she knew.

Always protective, her brother worried about their possible capture and her return to the abyss. He was preoccupied with the possibility of imminent death and failed to see the beauty or the freedom implied by the endless dark. He wasn’t aware of the sparkle of redundant planets and couldn’t experience the welcome peace of being weightless.

River could. Inside the leviathan she was cramped, broken, perplexed and adrift. This sea was her harbour. She looked around in delight and smiled. It was beautiful.

This was really great! River would really have been thinking this. I love that scene, the look on her face is just beautiful.

I am going to be reading more fic. I will certainly have the time for it with every thing that is happening to me atm.
