Kaylee bounced toward the infirmary eager to check on Jayne, he was gettin’ so much better. She stopped on hearin’ the Captain’s voice.
“I don’t wanna hear no more lies Jayne. What sorta trouble did you get Kaylee into down there?”
The mercenary didn’t answer, contentin’ himself with glarin’ at the thorn in his side.
“Don’t glare at me!” Mal was well into his tirade, “you weren’t even supposed to be planetside.”
He broke off as his mechanic entered the room an angry expression on her face. “Jayne came ‘cause I asked him, and it was me started the trouble.”
