Where was it? If it fell into the wrong hands, she was doomed. The embarrassment, the teasing – she could hear the jokes now!
Her search at first calm became more and more frantic. She searched high, she searched low. Dinosaurs were overturned carelessly and engine parts scattered recklessly. It wasn’t to be found. She slumped in her dining chair in despair.
“Lost somethin’ girl?”
Jayne was there, growling voice assailing her ears, the frown on his face identical to the one adorning her sketch; the precise, anatomical sketch which dangled from his fingers.
Leering, he raised his eyebrows. River blushed.
