“He held my hand!” Kaylee’s eyes sparkled, “and said I was pretty.”

“Shiny.” Jayne sighed. She’d been talkin’ ‘bout the doc for hours.

“Do ya think it could lead to somethin’ this time?” Kaylee was full of hope and wantin’.

“Not if ya want more than sexin’.” Jayne was uncomfortable bursting her bubbles. “That man ain’t ready for anythin’ more complicated.

“Course he is. He’s real committed.”

“To his sister, he ain’t got time for no-one else.”

“I’ll just go ask him.” Kaylee said defiantly. Jayne couldn’t be right.

Jayne shook his head, she were just gonna get hurt again.

AH..... so that's how it started. Then she went to Simon who said what Jayne predicted and now Kaylee is mad at Jayne. As is her right as a woman. Tee hee. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Jayne the truth-teller - one of his best roles. I like that he's a little hesitant here, not wanting to hurt Kaylee. With anyone else, he'd just be blunt and/or mean.
