just a ramble
Getting the school newsletter the other day reminded me how close we are to the end of the school year. Yes on the 12th December school is over for the year! I really have no idea where the year has gone, none at all. This has been our first year at this school and since I was worried when we changed over, I'm glad it's turned out well. Instead of being called to the school every week because of some behavioural thing - I've been called twice! In the whole year! It's amazing! I actually made the right decision *sighs in relief*. Add that to the fact that the little guy got a distinction in Science during the University age tests (there were only 2 in the whole school), I'm pretty satisfied.
I'm also satisfied that I completed my surf swim at the carnival the other day. My first ever in a competition. The waves were much bigger than I'm used to and I nearly ran into one of the other competitors, but I made it! Thanks so much to all my flisters who commented and wished us luck. The LG got third overall and acquitted himself well too! This was the first year his age group did the iron-person and it was great to see all those kids out there trying their hardest despite the biggest waves most of them have ever seen. (we don't get a lot of waves up here in the north)
I want to write! I have ideas, some of them are even written down, but I can't finish anything. I'm thinking about making that my NaNoWriMo goal - finish some of my WIPs so I can write the new fic burgeoning in my brain!
I need to go buy some new clothes. Nothing fits anymore! I haven't made my last half a kilo yet, but I'm working on it! 20 (44.1lbs) kilos is the goal - I've lost 19.5 (43 lbs) and have stuck there. Today is my day off- Lovely thought - and I had hoped to sit around catching up on the last 2 episodes of Chuck and I've left my USB at work!!!!!! *sniffs* Also the LG has invited god knows how many (actually 5) children around for a water bomb fight tomorrow, and the house needs cleaning! I don't want to clean the house *pouts*. I didn't want 5 children coming around either on our first Saturday home with no committments for weeks, but the plans had already been made! Much talking about parental rights ensued!! :D
